POG, a leading European manufacturer of custom and standard optical microstructures, introduces custom variable metallic neutral density filters and geometric beamsplitters with variable beamsplitting ratio as new product lines

Transmission and reflection in the respective application are defined by a computer generated geometrical beamsplitter. It is created by the variation of the ratio between transparent and absorbing/reflecting surfaces. The realization is done by a variable configuration of pixel size (starting from 2µm edge length) in a constant raster (50µm by default, can be modified according to customers specification).

The software available at POG and the photolithographic fabrication allow a high flexibility in realizing linear and non linear pattern in different sizes for prototype and serial quantities,

A variety of substrate materials like e.g. B270 and fused silica are available. The optical density ranges from practically zero to four or five depending on customers specifications and wavelength range.
