Funding for our digitalization project
We are pleased to announce that we have received a funding notice of nearly €200,000 for our innovative digitalization project “IDF+ Datascope.” The funding notice was personally presented to us at our headquarters in Löbichau by Altenburg District Administrator Uwe Melzer, Michael Apel, Head of the Department for Economy, Tourism, and Culture, as well as Pia Castell and Marcus Raschke from the “Unternehmen Revier” initiative of the Central German Metropolitan Region.
The project is part of the federal model program “Unternehmen Revier,” which has been supporting innovation in former lignite regions and actively shaping structural change since 2017.
IDF+ Datascope at POG
With “IDF+ Datascope”, we aim to take the value chain in our optics manufacturing to the next level. At the core of the project is the development of a comprehensive data model that collects information from engineering, optical design, production environments, and quality assurance, links it together, and makes it systematically analyzable.
As an internationally active photonics company specializing in the development and production of customized optical solutions, each of our products is unique and developed to meet individual customer requirements. This high level of customization brings complex development processes and, in some cases, long lead times. The new project is designed to better manage this complexity and significantly increase efficiency in both development and production.
The Benefits
With our new initiative, we are creating greater transparency and efficiency across the entire value chain.
For our partners, this means above all:
-
-
- shorter development times
- faster project execution
- reliable realization of even more complex optical solutions

CEO
“Our goal with the project we like to call ‘Data Mine’ internally is to make the vast amount of existing data more usable. We want to shorten our development cycles, further increase the quality and complexity of our products, and thus offer our customers even better high‑end optics even faster. With the funding we’ve received, we are laying the right foundation to accelerate the progress of our project. This allows us to remain innovative and well positioned for the future.”
